I contemplated not posting this outfit today. I really don't like the way it looks, but I figured why not be real and post about the times that my look doesn't come together the way I imagined.
I was actually excited to wear this today, I bought this shirt last month and still hadn't worn it. It's a little dressy so I already know it would work with a skirt, but when the idea came to me to pair it with the striped sweater I thought it would be the perfect way to dress it down. So I put it on and liked it, wore it most of the day, even went to lunch with the hubs while wearing it. Then when we got home and he pulled out the camera, I didn't like it at all in the pictures. My first thought was "this is what I looked like all day"? I was bummed.
So I'm calling it a style miss. It's not that I don't like the pieces, I just don't like them together.
I'll keep trying on the shirt, maybe something dressier next time...
What do you think? Have you ever had an outfit you thought would work but was a major let down?

Oh yeah...been there done that. Sometimes I wonder if there isn't a filter on my mirror in my bedroom because there seems to be something lost in the translation between my mirror and then the camera. In the mirror I'm looking hot, in the camera I'm looking like a hot mess.
ReplyDeleteI do like the pieces. I think you're right, together they are a bit much.

My post today was funky. Put I managed to pull it off. Some days are just that way huh? You look fine, really. You must have small calves. I couldn't get those boots to not be too tight. My ankles are skinny but my calves are ok size, but on some boots, urgh, too tight.
